Caithness Voluntary Group

Community Development

Community Development Officers

Caithness Voluntary Group currently employs four Community Development Officers which have been funded by local windfarms to identify, develop, and deliver community projects for eight of the twelve community council areas in Caithness.

Unfortunately, because these are funded positions for specific areas, our Development Officers are unable to assist with projects within the community council areas of Bower, Castletown, Thurso, and Caithness West. If you are a community group within one of these four excluded community council areas, and you would like assistance with a community project, you may still be able to receive help from our Core Development Officers, but this will depend on their current workload and the size and scale of your project.

Dunnet & Canisbay Community Council Area

Funded by Stroupster Windfarm Community Benefit Fund, our Community Development Officer for this area is willing to meet any community group from within the community council area to look at any project ideas they have for their community, to see if they are able to assist.
